Getting Started with WordPress

Getting started with WordPress can be a bit daunting if you’re not a technical person. This website is here to help you get up and running quickly and easily, and help you to avoid any problems.

It’s aimed at the average, non-technical person, and will provide you with everything that you need to know so you can install WordPress successfully, and then how to set up and configure your site or blog. It is clear and concise, and will show you just how straightforward the whole process can be.

The main part of this site is a step by step WordPress guide, and in the sidebar to the right you will see the list of contents, with links to the different sections to make it easier to use. It has been laid out so that is easy to follow, and is written in plain English. It is designed so you can either read it all the way through, or dip into individual sections for quick reference.

It also has a useful review section. This includes  a review of the web host used by this site,  as well as a review of the provider of  the theme I used to create it. This section can be accessed from the navigation bar at the top.

If you have found this site, no doubt you are looking for an easy to follow guide. Maybe you have already tried looking on the official WordPress site for information, only to find it a bit unclear or confusing (like me). Or maybe you are having problems with the famous “5 minute installation” (again, like me). These are just a couple of examples of the many reasons  a lot of WordPress newbies struggle. The crazy thing is though, WordPress is really very simple to use. So why do so many people run into problems with it?

Basically, this is because of a lack of simple, clear information. Unfortunately, the information on the WordPress site does not appear to have been written with the average person in mind. That is where this site comes in.

I hope you find the site useful, and if you have any comments then feel free to contact me here. My aim is to make this site the best resource available for getting started with WordPress, so all comments whether positive or negative are welcome.

Please Note: This site only covers the self-hosted version of WordPress.
